Make sure that the storage facility is free of pests, secure, dry and clean, and that no one but you has access to your unit. Protect your items with moving pads or blankets, and paper pads if stacking furniture. Keep appliance doors slightly open to avoid mold or mildew formation. It would also be wise to make a list of the items that you are storing and consider purchasing a protection plan if the moving pods company offers one. As the saying goes, an inch of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
