The more traditional L shaped design consists of two high backed benches placed together at a 90 degree angle and facing a trestle table. A picnic style bench at the opposite side of the table completes the design with extra seating space. The high backed benches also contain hidden storage space. If you lift the seats, you will find deep wells perfect for storing dishes and linens or pots and pans. This is a particularly attractive bonus for those with limited kitchen storage space.
